Why did you decide to attend college in the United States? Why did you choose UNI?

I wanted to prolong my tennis career and I heard that college tennis was the right way to go to achieve this goal. I have played tennis since I was 5yrs and I have loved every minute of it, I spoke to many coaches. I had 3 official visits and I felt that UNI was the most suited for me. I chose UNI because It reminded me of my home town as I live in the countryside. I really liked the coaches / team but also everyone at UNI and the community are so friendly and it made me feel very welcome.

What is the one thing you would tell a new or prospective international student about attending a college in the United States?

I would tell the prospective international student to join and get involved with the university right away because it keeps your mind off missing home/family. Although first two days of orientation I found it hard for myself, following that I enjoyed everything and I absolutely love it here. I have made so many friends because I put myself out there and spoke to people. It has been fun being engaged in the community- volunteering!

Tell us about any great classes or professors that have helped, inspired or challenged you with determining your career path.

I took a nutrition class my first semester with Professor Jane Toener at the start I was so scared of her but now she has been my favourite professor! she was hard tough professor but she told me to get involved and get experience in what I want to do in my future career which is coaching
