Why did you decide to attend college in the United States? Why did you choose UNI?
I decided to study in the United States because of its reputation. My family and friends advised me to study here and told me that it is going to be a great experience. Some friends told me about UNI and how safe, grateful it is.
What do you like the most about UNI?
One of the things I like the most about UNI is how easy it is to get help. The staff are really helpful and they are happy to help you.
What is your favorite spot on campus?
I am a big fan of rod library, the place where students spend their time. WRC (Wellness and Recreation Centre) is another place that I like where I can have fun with my friends, play soccer, and relax in the jacuzzi. As an international student I enjoy making new friends. So, Maucker Union is the best place to do that.
How did you determine your major i.e. did you take a class, consult with UNI programs, inspired by someone or something?
I had a class called Strategies for Academic Success. This class helped me a lot. I learned more about the American culture, how to organize my day using google calendar, and most importantly I learned that I should choose the major I like not what people think fits for me. And that was a big step in my life.

When I was in the Culture and Intensive English Program (CIEP) I had a great teacher. Her name is Emily Luttrell-Narigon. The teacher treats the student like if they are her own children. Whenever a student needs help she is there to help. I finished studying in the CIEP from almost 8 months and I still go to her whenever I need anything. I still remember these words from her, like it was yesterday, “Do what makes you the person you want to be after 10 years, and do not care what the people say”. These words inspired me and helped me choosing my major.
