Why did you decide to attend college in the United States? And why did you choose UNI?
At a certain point in life, every student has to make career choices. Indian Education system gave me the necessary theoretical base for my major but lacked practical education. I decided to attend college in the United States because of the practical approach it adopts in education. I chose UNI because of its comprehensive curriculum and the resources it provides to its students.
What is the one thing you would tell a new or prospective international student about attending a college in the United States?
I recall when I was planning for United States and I feared the change awaiting me. It always kept me occupied on how this new country would treat me amidst reports in the media about some racists incidents. Knowing this fears of a prospective student, I would advise the incoming students that its all wrong. United States is a beautiful country and the people here are very friendly. Remove all the paranoia and take this leap into an amazing future that lies ahead of all international students here.
What have you done to help make UNI your home away from home?
I try to engage myself in activities on campus an keep myself busy so that I don’t miss home much. Also getting involved helped me to make a lot of connections and good relationships.

My cell structure and function professor, Dr. Pete have always inspired me and guided me. He insisted me to start research at the freshman level because he recognized my interest. I get fascinated by the cool projects he accomplishes and gives me motivation to work harder.
