UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS FALL 2020
International Excel Award
Applicants with strong academic backgrounds may qualify for this scholarship with awards ranging from $1000-$6000 per year.

Enrolled students may apply for scholarships through their academic departments, although many awards are restricted to U.S. citizens or permanent residents and are for comparatively small amounts. An online scholarship board can be viewed at www.uni.edu/finaid/scholarship.
International Scholars Award
Award is automatically awarded based on SAT or ACT exam results. No application is needed.
- $5,000 - 1130 or higher (SAT) or 23 or higher (ACT)
- $3,000 - 1020-1120 (SAT) or 19 - 22 (ACT)
Available to new high school graduates majoring in a business program. Students must meet both SAT/ACT and GPA requirements. This award can be received in addition to other automatic scholarships. Students admitted to UNI by January 15th will receive full consideration. No application is needed.
$1,000 - 3.8 GPA and 1330 or higher (SAT) or 29 or higher (ACT)
$750 - 3.5 GPA and 1200 - 1320 (SAT) or 25 - 28 (ACT)
UNI Sister States Scholarship
The value is in the amount of $4000 per year and is available to all new incoming degree-seeking students including freshman and transfer. Students will be eligible upon proving resident status in one of the sister state regions and by meeting the UNI international admission requirements.
The Iowa Sister States include: Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan; Yucatan, Mexico; Hebei Province, China; Terengganu, Malaysia; Stavropol Krai, Russia; Taiwan; Cherkasy Oblast, Ukraine; Veneto Region, Italy; and Kosovo.
Presidential Scholar Award
Award value is $4,000 per year for students in the top 10% of their class, a score of 1340 or above on the SAT examination (29 on ACT), and extra-curricular activities. Visit honors.uni.edu/presidential-scholarships to learn more. Deadline January 15th.

There are many job opportunities on the UNI campus for students with student (F) visas or exchange visitor (J) visas to work. The average wages range from $8.00 - $8.50 per hour.
